'Virtual vets' tech leads to novel Telemedicine Hospital


A Cambridge company has created what it believes to be the world's first Telemedicine Hospital to help vets around the world with difficult diagnoses of sick animals – and manage issues in their own careers which can lead to losing interest in their career, stress and even suicide.

Designer dogs rescued from illegal breeder in Victoria's east


Dozens of dogs have been rescued from an illegal dog breeding site on a remote rural property in eastern Victoria. Thirty-nine cavoodles were found locked up in small, dark, damp and dirty greyhound trailers on a leased bush block east of Sale, in central Gippsland, on Thursday.

NSW council wants statewide cat cap to curtail numbers and 'put dogs on level playing field'


A local council on the south-west fringe of Sydney is lobbying the State Government to limit the number of cats non-breeders can own in New South Wales. Wollondilly councillor Simon Landow is leading the push to impose the statewide cat cap, which he believes will create "an equal playing field between dogs and cats".
