A brave dentist has carried out a root canal procedure on a tiger as an armed keeper stood over them with a shotgun. Veterinary dentist Matthew Oxford was treating poorly Fabi, the Sumatran tiger, at Devon's Paignton Zoo. Fabi, who is over two metres long and weighs more than 100 kilograms, was put under anaesthetic for the work on the 11-year-old feline's eight centimetre teeth.
